Workshops are provided through introductory and intermediate levels of instruction in areas such as painting and drawing, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media and open studio/portfolio development. These workshops afford an opportunity for youth to express their artistic voices, develop and strengthen creative skills and experience the art of creative problem-solving, inner vision, tangible product, collaboration and community connect.
Using a variety of materials such as paper-mache, printmaking, sculpting, 3-D projects, collage, paints, and pastels, students explore art around the world to create beautiful works of arts.
An exploration of mixed media in contemporary art, students explore both two and three dimensional art making techniques working with water colors, acrylic paints, pastels, and other mediums to develop their own ideas through thematic projects.
This workshop is designed to help students gain admission in specialized art high schools and colleges by developing an outstanding professional portfolio. Students learn the fundamentals of painting and drawing, portraiture, figure drawing, still life, mixed media and more as well as design concepts.
Students explore the world through the medium of painting drawing, collage, paper sculpture and other non-traditional art making techniques to create art that inspires, challenges and empowers the choices they make to shape their own lives.
From screen-printing, T-shirt designs, jewelry, fiber and functional arts, young people explore wearable, decorative and folk arts. These workshops are conducted in collaboration with other youth service organizations.
